The social commitment of the company is based on these fundamental principles, which for some years now has embraced the company's projects.Third World Aid Association Onluswhich operates mainly in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia).
The strong point of this association is its concrete ability to transform, thanks to the enthusiasm and stubbornness of the lay missionaries present in the area and the group of volunteers, a small economic contribution into real projects of great perspective for the local realities.
Women's shelters
Built in 2003, the La Sonrisa centre welcomes young women, with their children, who are often victims of violence or who come from situations of degradation and abandonment. They are offered a bed, a meal, basic health care, psychological support and training through manual workshops.
Fabrica de la Sonrisa was founded in 2009 with the aim of welcoming girls from poor families in suburban villages, offering them concrete support in their university studies. The association covers all expenses (tuition fees, books, transport, food and lodging) and guarantees the students a wide educational path.
The camp villages and the "Papaye Project"
In 2014 the association launched a project based on the cultivation of papayas, involving the university girls hosted at La Fabrica de la Sonrisa.
The sale of papayas at the Santa Cruz market will help to improve the living conditions of families living in rural communities, particularly by supporting the health emergencies of these people. Finally, part of the proceeds will be used to build small brick houses for the poorest families forced to live in mud and straw houses.
